Yeah no kidding. If it's one thing that NEVER wowed me in the Apple department it's the Mice. Always very expensive and ok at best. Mac keyboards are great however!
And for those of you who bought the expensive, one-button bluetooth mouse, sorry but...what the hell were you thinking!?

Charlie Sheen parties too much though. Too much of that stuff can mess you up bad. Just gotta keep it below 3 grams per night and one night per week. It's not fun anymore when you wind up in the hospital.

How on earth could you feel the difference in your hand? I'd like to see a photo with calipers.
Actually I could feel that it was slightly heavier as well. I weighed both the black and white model and indeed the white is a little heavier but I really dont care, all my cases that I love (SGP) still work fine so its a "Who Cares" kinda thing as said before.

You know, considering that the other countries are getting it in a little over a week, I think the chances of getting on in a store are pretty slim. It sounds like stores are only getting a handful of models, and for the past 2 days in a row, all of the stores I've called around here have only received 64GB Verizon models if anything.
It REALLY sucks that I've got to wait 3 weeks for my white iPad to ship, but honestly at this point I think that's going to be shorter than trying to wait it out for one at the store.
I just wish I'd lined up at the Brea Mall store at like, 5AM. :/
Gah dont remind me. I want to go get in line tomorrow at 6 somewhere, but, meh. Ill probably end up at Fashion Island early Saturday and or Sunday.

You can stream your own media to yourself with a DIY solution but it will cost you for (a) the hard drives which are storing your media, (b) the upload bandwidth consumed by your home server, (c) the hydro costs of keeping your server running 24/7, and (d) the time it takes for any setup and maintenance.
Obviously many people have no problem paying these "costs" and would prefer them over a hard cash outlay (even $20/year), but that doesn't mean these costs don't exist and shouldn't be factored into the value proposition.

As a few others have said, the software is where it's at. Apple knows this. I dont think it really matters when they come out with another iPhone. They've got an amazing device with the iPhone 4 that can run pretty much anything normal people throw at it. If they can update the software to correct the few flaws it does have, it's going to be the perfect phone and the 5 will just further refine that. Everyone should really be focused on the conference in June.

Yes, but there has been a massive fail rate in IBM Desktar Models (Hitatchi has bought the IBM hard drive division after). I know the problem won't appear again, and that the current Desktar only shares the name with the problematic one, but I prefer to stay away from Hitatchi drives. There are other brands, and they are priced similarly. I'm losing nothing here.
I've been using the same 500GB Hitachi Deskstar for about 3 years now. No qualms yet. Of course it's just for file storage. I put my OS and apps on my SSD.
An imminent upgrade is probably prudent though. :D 3 years is a bit long for any HDD really.

I wonder if this new pricing scheme is being enabled by the record labels with lower wholesale pricing to Amazon (to try, yet again, to take power out of Apple's hands), or if Amazon is simply doing this at a loss?

For Apple, they are not making much, if any money - they always planned it as a break-even business - the real value was the content eco-system tied to their products (= value for customers).
Gain market share for Amazon. Like last year when they sold MP3 albums at a loss.

Grab yourself a copy of xdelta (http://xdelta.org/) and do your fancy small update package yourself. There's even no need to look at Google, this was common practice on Gentoo GNU/Linux years ago (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=318671). I remember running a satellite server myself. However, that were ISDN/Analog/DSL 765k days, who on 16MBit cares whether the updates are 30 or 300MB anymore, as long as Apple hosts the files?

Also, just wanted to weigh in on the "big hands" thing - I'm a woman, born a woman, never any question about it, but my hands are as big as most men's, especially considering I'm only 5'4". So are you going to beat me up just in case I'm a man?

And just because someone's sexual/gender preferences are outside your definition of normal does NOT mean that they're a frigging pedophile. That is such a leap in logic it's making my head spin. It's also really offensive. It's just as offensive as if I assumed that because of your race (whatever it is), you're more likely to molest MY child. That's not fair, is it? Doesn't make sense, does it? So you shouldn't make that assumption about a transgender person, either.
And don't give me any of this "race isn't a choice but gender is" BS. That's a common excuse and it's an incorrect assumption. Nobody would choose to live as a gender they didn't identify with if they didn't feel they needed to. If you've ever lived and struggled with something you were mortified to let anyone know, you'd have more sympathy for this transgendered woman. It must be nice to be you, but not everybody has it so great. Show a little empathy and don't automatically assume everyone is out to get you.
Oh, and using the "you don't have kids so you don't know" argument is the biggest load of ********* I can imagine. But it's nice to know that when I'm finally a parent, it means I can become an absolutely horrible human being. No better role model for a kid than a close-minded bigot, I always say.

CD's? That's still just about all I purchase, beside my vinyl collection:D I want a physical copy for everything, and I like to have the artwork, AND get it signed by the artist when I see them live. I also get the ticket and place it behind the CD holder in the case. With my Genelec 1030A's I can tell if it's an MP3 or not:p Now where did the sweet spot between my speakers go again:rolleyes:
And on top of all that, it's your property to do with as you please...forever.:)
